New Jersey First Lady, Tammy Murphy, and State Senator Andrew Zwicker Welcome Community Offshore Wind by Video at the Official Launch Party

Atlantic City, NJ, April 27, 2022

During the Community Offshore Wind official launch party held at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University, New Jersey First Lady, Tammy Snyder Murphy, and New Jersey District 16 State Senator, Andrew Zwicker, welcomed the joint venture by video message. Community Offshore Wind gathered with industry leaders during the week of April 27th at the 2022 International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum (IPF) hosted by the Business Network for Offshore Wind.

“Our administration is committed to the following goals: 1. Enabling New Jersey’s leadership in the clean energy future and 2. Improving the health and wellness of the communities where we live and work. To ensure New Jersey’s success in both of these initiatives, offshore wind is an essential part of our strategy. That is why we have set a target of delivering 7,500 MW of offshore wind by 2035 and we are eager to work with the offshore wind industry to achieve that goal,” said Murphy. “On behalf of the Governor and myself, I want to extend a warm welcome to Community Offshore Wind. We look forward to building a stronger, fairer and greener future for New Jersey together.”

“I don’t need to tell each of you the importance not just of wind energy, but the importance of non-carbon energy for our communities, for our planet, and for our workforce,” said Zwicker. “You have community in your name because of that emphasis and its so incredibly key… I’m thrilled that you’re here and I look forward to seeing what happens over the next few years.”
